Description

Wedgwood Bowl was donated by the Hon. Josiah Wedgewood in 1959 to mark the celebrations in that year of the 350th anniversary of the discovery of Bermuda by Admiral Sir George Somers. Inscribed around the rim: "In celebration of 350 Years of Peaceful and Orderly Government of The Island of Bermuda."

Made from Black Basalt. 12" in diameter, by 5" high. Donated by the Hon. Josiah Wedgewood in 1959 to mark the celebrations in that year of the 350th anniversary of the discovery of Bermuda by Admiral Sir George Somers. Inscribed around the rim: "In celebration of 350 Years of Peaceful and Orderly Government of The Island of Bermuda. " Inscribed on the bottom: "1959: To Celebrate the 350th Anniversary of The Arrival in Bermuda of the First Settlers from England.
