Note

Reproduction of 16th century Gothic Armour. Probably made in the middle 19th century. When Sir Walter Scott finished his novels, there was a great revival of interest in the Gothic - Gothic furniture, architecture, etc. Almost everyone felt they had to have a suit of armour in their home or in their library and consequently a lot of reproductions were made because the originals were so rare that most people could never hope to own a suit. Breastplate circa 1650-1670. Description provided by Mendel Peterson, November 30, 1984.
