New Print No. 2: As the summer of 1968 proceeded, I worked on two themes: those field targets in strong sunlight and, second, our baby blue 1960 Ford. I imagined the targets alongside certain parts of the car--the doors, the hood, or rear-view mirrors--and composed several variations. This one uses what's called the car’s rocker panel, but greatly out of proportion to a real target (my model was four feet in diameter!).
