Target and Water II: In the summer I had been on an outdoors drawing session with my students underneath the freeway overpass where the floating bridge leaves Seattle. The waters of the arboretum reflected the bridge, and I studied the ripples caused by the erratic breezes as they found their way through the maze of supporting pylons holding up the bridge approach. I transferred that vision to the target and reflection series, considering the meaning of reflection, refraction and distortion.
