Travel Tapes Archive Cased

Travel Tapes cased: The case containing the Ritchie World Travelers videotapes made in 1983. The QR codes link viewers to a short video promoting the book (not shown) and the 30-minute edited "home videos" by Bill Ritchie. Besides the VHS Original Masters, the case contains the book in print described on the YouTube version as:
"Unabashed promotion of my book, 'Travel Tapes: A Professor's Big Gamble,' is on the advice of Ralph Waldo Emerson: 'He who is not everyday conquering some fear has not learned the secret of life.' I am afraid putting this video on YouTube might bring rebukes at self-promotion. I wonder if Emerson is right - conquering this fear may teach me a secret of life if not THE secret. That would be cool, worth the risk. I put a QR code on the video one can scan with one's smart phone from, say, a desktop or tablet playback QR code reader and BING! starts our 23-minute YouTube travelogue of family outtakes. I love these toys - maybe it's part of learning a secret of life in this, the future."
The case also has in it a 16 Gb chip or flash drive with the entire 35-hours of digitized videos. The transcript from the short video (1:31) promoting the book, above, follows:

Hi, I'm Bill Richie in Seattle and i want you to buy my book, Travel Tapes:
A professor's big gamble," because I think if you read this book it will be like taking yourself back
almost 40 years to 1983 when I took my family and I went around the world making videotape recordings of artists, computer graphics artists, other professors and museum experts.
I was on a sabbatical leave from the University of Washington and I made 35 hours of these recordings on videotape of those individuals. It was a great experience and I have a way of sharing it now with the book, "Travel Tapes."
It will be like reading my notes, snapshots, and thoughts all about the impact of the electronics on the arts; and toward the end of the book there's even a QR code where you can use your device to scan the code and watch a 23-minute video tape
overview of the trip.
Please buy my book. I think you'll enjoy it.
