Notes
Organ purchased in Staunton, VA circa 1915 for Gladys Sheets Shull (June 1907-January 1997), by her parents, Christian and Luverna Zimmerman Sheets.
The Sheets family lived at Mt. Solon in the home of Luverna's parents, Brother Jacob and Annie Glick Zimmerman, where the organ was kept in the parlor until 1978, when the Zimmerman homestead was sold. Brother Jacob "Jake" was born October 3, 1842. He was a minister and was licensed to perform marriages in March, 1890. He attended Moscow, Emmanuel, Sangerville, and Beaver Creek Churches of the Brethren. He died in January, 1929.
Gladys Sheets married W. Joseph Shull in 1924. She inherited the Zimmerman homestead, where she lived with her husband until 1978, when they moved to the Bridgewater Retirement Village. Gladys gave the organ to her daughter, Mary, at that time.
