Parrosaurus missouriensis (Missouri Dinousaur) Bones

Name/Title

Parrosaurus missouriensis (Missouri Dinousaur) Bones

Description

Photos of the original bones found. Lula Chronister (often identified as Mrs. Chronister) was the property owner whose well‑digging produced the fossil bones in 1942. She gave the bones to geologist Dan Stewart so they could be studied. Mrs. Chronister then sold the bones to the U.S. National Museum (now the Smithsonian) where they still reside. These fossils ultimately became part of the first scientifically documented dinosaur fossils from Missouri, later recognized as Parrosaurus/Hypsibema missouriensis.
