Object. Single brass button, round, with eagle and shield. Found tied to belt buckle (0 87). Belonged to Major Henry Whitcomb, Civil War soldier. A small brass button, c. 5/8” diam with raised eagle and shield, Horstmann Bros. & Co., Phil on reverse was tied to a belt buckle (cat. separately as O 87). Civil war uniform vs. GAR uniform unknown.
