Oil painting on canvas depicts fighting birds. At lower center is a yellow duck with gray beak, gray and white wing, looking to the object right. It sits in a pond of blue water. At object right is gray and green long grass. At object left is greenlily pads. At back of pnd, more green. At object left is a gray branch extending up to the object right center. On it at object left sits an osprey (?) with black body, blue and white wings, yellow tail and neck, white face, black head. It looks up to asimilar bird facing downward. At center of picture, on branch, is an owl with brown, white, orange feathers. It has raised wings and faces object left. On the shore at object right lower corner stands a heron with blue, yellow, white body. In upper object right corner is a gray branch with green leaves. On it, facing object right sits an osprey (?) with black and white wings, tail, yellow and black spotted body. It is eating a small brown bird eld in its talons. Background has green tree at object left, blue sky behind. Varnished. On wooden stretcher. In red and green wooden frame (not original) with scroll relief design on ogee molding; sides are fascia, scotia, fascia moldings.
