This is a study for another painting. It is a preliminary exploratory work that was made before beginning the final painting. Comparing the painted study with the final completed work you will see differences in the details such as composition and color choices.
Mrs. Bartlett said in an interview that she "brought the marble fireplace from Indianpolis."
