Description

Frederic Clay Bartlett painted this delightfully whimsical scene of a horse drawn wagon hayride in Bavaria Germany. He studied art in the area as a young man and visited the country many times as an adult. The painting has buildings in the background and two drinking men seated at a table in the foreground. The original painting hung outside the Bonnet House Veranda for years. It was reproduced and replaced. For preservation, the original was put in climate-controlled storage.
