This jungle scene is one of a pair. It depicts a giraffe, a lion, a rhino, a tiger and a zebra. It is framed in a yellow frame similar to those Frederic Clay Bartlett used for his ceiling paintings from his weekend retreat in Davie, Florida. He had them removed and hung in the Courtyard at Bonnet House when they sold the retreat in the late 1950s.
Made by FCB for Libby and Landy to teach them animal names per former curator Stephen Draft who spoke with Libby.
