MS.60Scope and Content
Boulder City pioneer Eugene Ousley worked for the Babcock and Wilcox Company, helping place the penstock pipes in Hoover Dam. The material in this collection includes many of Ousley's personal papers as well as a poem he wrote in 1935 on the construction of Hoover Dam. This poem is a particularly important document because it includes a glossary of construction terms and slang used by Hoover Dam workmen.
