Hoover Dam construction: heat studies, c. 1932: "Laboratory established in the Municipal Building, Boulder City, for the purposes of investigating the effects of high temperatures on the human organism. This work is being projected by the Harvard University School of Medicine under the direction of Dr. David Bruce Dill. Diet causes of heat prostration, alleviating measures, clothing, working efficiency under high temperatures, etc. are among the subjects being studied."
