Hoover Dam spillways: Arizona cavitation, April 2-8, 1942; "Photo shows eroded area in Arizona spillway tunnel, unwatered prior to repair. Cross sections revealed cavity to be approximately 115 feet long and 30 feet wide, with a maximum depth of 45 feet below invert grade at lowest point.
