0022:0180: US Bureau of Mines Collection - C-684-BC Rod Mill and Classifier: This 3- by 8-foot rod mill and 30-inch screw classifier are grinding Artillery Peak ore. The pump in the foreground transfers the classifier overflow to the flotation circuit. Just out of the picture to the right is a 5- by 4-foot ball mill which may be used as an alternate to the rod mill. Careful grinding and classification are essential to successful flotation.
