William Sidney (Bill) Russell was born in Spokane, Washington, on March 7, 1903, and entered the photographic profession in 1920. and joined the Bureau of Reclamation at Grand Coulee in July 1939. He was transferred here to Boulder City in 1941 as a photographer for the Boulder Canyon Project and held that position until his death. An artist in his work, his Bureau of Reclamation pictures appeared in many national magazines. He was devoted to his family, and one of his favorite pastimes was taking pictures of his grandchildren.Collection
