Augustus

Name/Title

Augustus

Entry/Object ID

Description

This is a terrible coin! You can barely make out the portrait. I’d quite like a better coin of Augustus. One of the reasons they assassinated Caesar was because he started to put his portrait on coins which was reserved for the Gods. It didn’t take long for Octavian to continue his adoptive fathers propaganda.
