Scope and Content

Civil War Monument at Bristol Township Park taken 1967. Monument was dedicated on October 15, 1863. It was the first monument to be erected in State of Ohio for Civil War Veterans. The cost of $500.00 was raised by private funds from citizens of Bristolville. It is made of marble. There are 14 Bristol citizens names on the sides, Age of men ranged from 17 to 44. Two of the men died aboard ship, others fell at Cedar Point Mountain, Tenn., Louisville, K., Perrysville, Shiloh, Baxter Springs, and Camp Chase.
