33 1/3 Audio record titled "The Rattle and the Roar: Volume 7, 128 Whistles," containing the sound of train signals, circa 1971. The record was published by Train Master Records, Manitou Springs, Colorado. The jacket is 12" x 12," with a color marker illustration of a train traveling in a mountain landscape on the front. The caption "Steam Railroading in the Colorado Rockies" is below the title. The reverse side of the jacket has a description of the record contents. It also lists all volumes in the record series; the record is one of seven volumes. A morse code key of common instructions is also listed.
The record itself has recordings of multiple whistles, or "signals," of different trains along Denver and Rio Grande Western Railroad's narrow gauge lines between Colorado and New Mexico, from 1948 to 1971. The length is unspecified.Collection
