Typed draft of a book, "Call to Arms" by William Kruegel (also known as Billy Kay), circa 1930-1935. It is the memoir of William Kruegel, father of Broomfield resident Emily Becca Crawford (nee Kruegel), who served in the Spanish-American War, the Philippines, and the Boxer Rebellion. The memoir reflects Kruegel's experiences during those wars, and his thoughts on war in general. It is photocopied on 8.5" x 11" paper with hole punches, 234 pages long. Custodial History: Emily Becca Crawford (nee Kruegel) saved this transcript and other items of her father's in a trunk while living in Broomfield. Donated by the family following her husband's, Miles Crawford's, death in 1987.
