Scope and Content

A War Department Technical Bulletin titled, "Elementary Map and Aerial Photograph Reading," March 2, 1944. The bulletin was distributed during World War II by the War Department to US soldiers, referencing an earlier document titled "Elementary Map and Aerial Photograph Reading" from April 12, 1941. The number for the technical bulletin is TB 21-25-1. The document is 40 pages long, 6" x 9," paper. The document includes numerous instructions for drawing and interpreting military maps and scaled aerial photographs, along with detailed illustrations. An inserted 3.5" x 6" piece of paper has handwritten notes in pencil, with practice work using a mathematical compass.
