Annual book for the Colorado Training School for Nurses, titled "El Amigo", 1929. The book is 8" x 11", leather hardcover. The cover has a textured, raised image of the nursing school, and a basic banner design consisting of three trapezoid shapes near the bottom edge. The inside cover has the inscription "Ella Mitze, Denver General Hospital, Denver Colorado", in ink, written by the book's original owner.
The annual was the second volume of "El Amigo", and served as a sort of yearbook for the students, faculty, and staff of the Colorado Training School for Nurses. The book's owner, longtime Broomfield resident Ella Mitze, started her nursing education at the school in 1929, the same year the book was printed. The book contains many types of information about the school, including: pictures, information, and poems about individual students and faculty; class information and pictures; information on different parts of Denver General Hospital, where nursing students worked; achievement lists; jokes; and several written comments and autographs from students.Collection
