Small card with envelope congratulating Ella Mitze on the birth of her son, Vic Thaete, May 1933. The card and envelope are 1.75" x 2.5"; the card is one-sided. The front of the card has a color illustration of flowers along the top edge and in the upper right corner. The message "Gift for a Dear Little Baby with love for a Dear Little Mother" is printed on the front. The reverse side of the card has a written message in ink, stating "Congratulations from the McKee's."
Ella Mitze was a longtime resident of Broomfield, and cared for her son there until her death in 1945. Vic Thaete was then raised by his grandparents, Ernst and Louise Mitze. The McKee family also resided in Broomfield in the 1930s; John McKee operated the Broomfield Mercantile Company until it burned down in 1935. Clara McKee inherited several assets from her father, August Nissen, who was very active in Broomfield investment and business ventures.Collection
