Change Saver Folders from Broomfield BanksEntry/Object ID
x.549a-gScope and Content
Set of eight coin saver folders from various banks around Broomfield, circa 1958-1991. Each folder is approximately 3.5" x 6.5". The promotional folders were used to save up store dimes and quarters. Each card folder opens up to reveal coin slots on the inside, designating the amount of money saved for each full slot. Banks hoped that patrons would eventually store their coins in a savings account; new folders were apparently awarded when old ones were given to the bank.
The set includes two folders from Broomfield Bank, one from Empire Savings, one from World Savings, and four from Colorado National Banks. The Broomfield Bank folders depict a "thrifty" squirrel on the front. The Empire Savings folder has an illustration of pioneers in a covered wagon. The World Savings folder has the text "The way to Go-o Save" featured on the front, with coins for the Os. The Colorado National Bank folders show piles of dimes.Collection
