Scope and Content

Two Broomfield Footlighters theater company play programs, dated 1961 and 1963. The programs were for the plays "Night of January 16th" on February 2, 3, and 4, 1961, and for "Sabrina Fair" on November 7, 8, and 9, 1963. Cast and production staff for the Broomfield Footlighters included several members of the Broomfield community, whose brief biographies are noted on one of the programs. John Huddart is listed as the director for both plays. Several Broomfield businesses, organizations, and individuals also served as patrons for the plays' production, such as the Turnpike Land Company, Empire Savings and Loan, Broomfield Star-Builder Newspaper, and even Dr. Clyde Brunner, Broomfield's local veterinarian. The Footlighters made plays for at least four seasons, through 1964.

Provenance

Notes

Custodial History: These programs were originally owned by Robert Crawford, and later donated to the Broomfield Depot Museum in 2013 with several photographs and documents. Much of the material pertains to Robert's father, Miles Crawford, who was Broomfield's postmaster from 1944 to 1966, as well as to the general history of Broomfield from the late nineteenth century onward.
