Scope and Content

Letter from First Lady Mamie Doud Eisenhower to the children of Broomfield, dated July 8, 1963. The letter is laminated, 7" x 8.5" on stationary from the Brown Palace Hotel in Denver, Colorado. Raised, gold lettering is at the top of the letter, along with a globe and banner logo with the text, "Where the World Registers." Mamie's initials, "M.D.E.," is also printed in gold lettering. Mamie's message is handwritten in what appears to be pencil, thanking all of the children in Broomfield who attended the Mamie Doud Eisenhower Library dedication on July 7, 1963 and gave her a basket of pink carnations. The letter ends with a message wishing good things for them and Broomfield, a "wonderful little city."
