Photo of the Broomfield Heights Center sign that was the first commercial business area. Note on the back says "sign was installed May 8, 1958." (b/w) Label from 2021 Exhibit: Broomfield Heights Center Sign, c. 1958 For 36 years, this massive sign for the Broomfield Shopping Center welcomed drivers to Broomfield. The sign was installed on May 8, 1958. It lit up in bright neon. By the 1990s the shopping center showed its age and the commercial areas had grown to the northeast with the city. In 1994, the Broomfield Center was torn down and replaced by a Target. In 2012, the At Home store took over the Target building. 1979.1.16 Gift of Empire Savings Bank
