Description

Item is a set of metal hooks and eyes used for sewing. The hooks and eyes are attached to a paper card with a red and white border surrounding the blue background. The brand name, Newey's, is listed in the top left corner. The top right corner features a cartoon image of a mother and daughter, as well as indicating that these hooks and eyes are Size 1. Along the bottom, it is stated that this product was manufactured in England. The card originally held 12 hooks and 12 eyes, but two eyes and eight hooks are missing. The company Newey's was particularly prominent during the 1950s and 1960s, and they operated under royal appointment in the UK. Hook and eye fasteners are used to secure garments by providing a way to hook openings closed.
