Description

This is a bronze cog that is part of a larger machine. It is round in shape with one side that has 12 gear projections and the other side is smooth but on the interior has three indentations and each has two grooves on the edge. There is a round hole through the center. The fragment measures 3" (h) x 3.75" (diam) with a 1 cm hole in the center.

From Registration Sheet: Mr. Wilson owns the site and gave permission for the excavating. These items came from the dirt pile that resulted when the well and cistern were dug up at the Jones Hall site. Jones Hall was built in 1906 by Edgar J. Jones. It burned down in 1972.
