This is an iron door handle that is D-shaped. It would have fit under a strap to attach to an object. The handle would have been free to be lifted or drop down when not used. The handle flares from the bar to the handhold. The door measures 1" (h) x 4.75" (w) x 9.5" (l).

From Registration Sheet: Mr. Wilson owns the site and gave permission for the excavating. These items came from the dirt pile that resulted when the well and cistern were dug up at the Jones Hall site. Jones Hall was built in 1906 by Edgar J. Jones. It burned down in 1972.
