Description

This is a black and white photograph of man over looking wreckage after a train wreck. This train wreck was under a bridge of US 36 between 104th Ave and the Broomfield exit. Transcribed on the back of the print, it reads; "On August 2, two trains collided in a head-on, 5 crew members were killed. A Burlington Northern Railroad supervisor surveys the wreckage from one of two turnpike bridges that were damaged from the fire caused by the collision."

This image was published in the Denver Sentinel Newspaper shortly after crash. It was also entered into the National Press Photographers Association contest in 1986, but did not place.
