Brown Family Posing by Railroad TracksEntry/Object ID
2015.18.4Description
Scanned photograph of the Brown family posing next to railroad tracks, circa 1910. From left to right, back to front: Unidentified woman, Frances Cron, William Brown, Ellenor Brown, Blanche Brown. The photograph was likely taken in Broomfield. The group could have been preparing to go on a trip on the Denver & Interurban Railroad from Broomfield to Denver. A small structure with a door is visible next to the Browns on the left side of the image, with railroad tracks to the right.
The backside of the photograph has inscriptions in ink, probably written by descendents of the Brown family long after the photograph was taken. The inscriptions attempt to name the individuals depicted in the photograph.

Notes
The photograph is part of a larger collection of photographs taken and kept by the Brown family. The collection, along with a pair of diaries and a collection of poems, were scanned by Broomfield Depot Museum staff in 2015. The scans were donated to the museum by Janet Justice-Waddington, the daughter of Frances Ridsdale, that same year. Janet owns the original photographs as of 2015; the originals are not in the Broomfield Depot Museum's collections.
