This is a white porcelain washbasin from a washstand set made by Knowles, Taylor & Knowles. There is no maker's mark on the bottom. The washbasin has a gold colored ring around the rim that is worn off in some places. There is a smaller gold colored ring 1 inch from the rim. The lip of the washbasin is curved down towards the bottom. The washbasin has crazing throughout that is visible on both the inside and the outside. The washbasin measures 4.75" (h) x 16.75" (diam).
Date based on maker's mark on the bottom of associated pitcher, 2017.20.1.
There was a handwritten note associated with the pitcher and washbasin that reads, "Information on Bowl + Pitcher/ Received from Grace Baptist/ Church 10/81/ 1900 yr./ KTS/ Good American Co./ Knoles, Taylor/ Made China + Glass/ Founded 1853 to 1920/ East Liverpool, Ohio."Collection
