There are drawstrings on the hood to tighten it around the face and drawstrings on the inside of the parka at the waist. The front of the parka has four pockets, two smaller breast pockets and two larger hip pockets. The parka also has a zippered pocket on the back left side near the top. The blue jacket was called a Gerry Jacket. It was kind of a signature piece from the Gerry Mountaineering at the root of the kits. I am pretty sure I bought all the kits I made at a big store on Broadway (?), maybe it was the one in Broomfield but I don't remember driving that far. It was in the early 70s but I am not sure of the exact date. I wore it forever and still had it in my front coat closet when I saw your post. Attached is [a scan of a photo of] me and one of my hunting buddies in Fort Collins with the geese we finally bagged after many cold, autumn days in 1977 hiding in corn stubble on a farm east of town. I was at CSU in Forest Management 1975-79.
I made the kits as an affordable way to have nice gear. I also made myself a down vest and a tent, maybe others as gifts that I have forgotten.
