Description

This is a fanning mill with a wood frame, metal screens and hardware, and metal wheels attached to the base to make it mobile. The fanning mill is a winnowing machine that separates the chaff, dust, weed seeds, dirt, stones, etc. from the grains that can be eaten. By removing the contaminents, the grains would preserve better. NOTE: Rosann Doran said she thinks former Council Member Clark Griep gave this to the museum. She said he is still in Broomfield 03/10/2018, Jacqui
