Description

Black and white photograph of Broomfield Jaycees standing in front of the new foundation for the Broomfield train depot at 2201 West 10th Avenue near Lac Amora Park (now Zang Spur Park), 1976. Former Jaycees President and Centennial-Bicentennial Celebration Chairman Dick Boccard is standing on the left with his arms behind his back; Broomfield Jaycees President Robert Lewis is in a wheelchair, wearing a Jaycees vest, with a groundbreaking shovel resting at his side. Both men worked to move the depot to its new site after Colorado and Southern Railway expressed plans to tear down the structure. Broomfield Mayor Walt Spader can be seen at the right edge of the photograph.
