Name/Title
Site of Broomfield's First Train Depot Near Highway 287Entry/Object ID
ph.212Description
Black and white photograph print of a site for the Broomfield train depot, circa 1975. The depot was not the Depot that was built around 1909, but an earlier one that serviced the Denver, Utah and Pacific Railroad off of Highway 287 near Brunner Farm (approximately 120th and Sheridan) circa 1880s. The print is 4.5" x 7," on Kodak photo paper, resin coated. The image shows an open field with tall and short grass, with a wooden fence, short grain silos, and houses in the distance. The upper left corner of the image is blacked out, likely from the photo development process.
The reverse side has a handwritten inscription in ink: "Sight of Broomfield Depot Museum Looking South." The word "museum" was added with different ink, possibly by pigma pen, though this was not the site of the depot that would later become the Broomfield Depot Museum.Photograph Details
