Black and white photograph print of a "Texas Zephyr" train in Boulder, Colorado in a snowy landscape at night, January 28, 1958. The print is 3.5" x 5", glossy on deckled Kodak Velo paper. The image shows the silver colored diesel locomotive with its front light on and steam coming out the back part of the engine. Another set of train tracks and snow with footprints are visible in front of the train, in the foreground. The reverse side has an inscription in blue ink, stating: "No. 29, Boulder, Colo, Jan 27, 1958." Another inscription in the lower left corner states: "30 sec. at F.8.6, K-80c c-night." 29 may have been the specific train number.
Texas Zephyr passenger trains operated jointly between the Colorado and Southern Railway and Fort Worth and Denver Railway, subsidiaries of the Chicago, Burlington, and Quincy Railroad. It operated from 1940 to 1967.Collection
