Brownie the Dog at Broomfield Train Depot

Name/Title

Brownie the Dog at Broomfield Train Depot

Entry/Object ID

1979.11.5

Description

A black and white photograph print depicting Brownie, the dog of Broomfield Depot station agent Richard Vaughan, circa 1920. The print is a photograph of another photograph, apparently originally in a photo album, probably taken in the 1970s. The image shows Brownie sitting upright in a wooden chair on the platform of the depot, in front of a window, with Richard Vaughan barely visible on the left edge of the image. A sign on the wall stating "Denver & Interurban R.R. Agent Office", with some of the text obscured, is also visible. The reverse side has two inscriptions. One, in blue ink, states "Neg. #2." The other says, "'Brownie' at Depot. 1920" in black ink.
