Description

Black and white photograph print of the Broomfield train depot at its original site, near the grain elevator and Jones' Hall, circa 1970. The print is 8" x 10", silver gelatin with glossy finish. The depot is clearly visible in the center, with "Broomfield" sign on the roof and tall train signal tower to its left. The grain elevator, train tracks, a train car, and telephone poles are to the depot's left. Jones' hall is to the right in the foreground, with an "Al's Trading Post" hanging sign and "Antiques Odds and Ends" sign on its balcony railing. A store customer is seen going through Jones' Hall's front door, his back facing the camera. The reverse side has inscription in black ink in the upper right corner, stating "neg. #1070 1069." This number refers to corresponding negatives (not yet identified in Museum collections). Another inscription in different black ink has the number "1-59." This number was probably used by the photograph's original owner.
