Description

A 35mm color slide of a building behind Oasis Lounge near 7400 West 120th Avenue, 1979. Ray's Oasis (later Oasis Lounge) was a popular bar in Broomfield in the 1940s and 1950s. It was operated by Ray Scarce and his wife, Louise Scarce. The image shows an old white house with a door with a screen window to the left and two windows to the right. The shingle roof is visible, with a leaf gutter hanging just below it. A concrete sidewalk leads to the door to the left, with several plants growing in front of the house. A faded, A-frame white sign with the text "Cigarette" printed on it is just in front of the house to the right. Inscription, in ink, on the front paper border states, "Building behind Oasis Lounge."
