Man Standing by Car Outside Broomfield Lumber CompanyEntry/Object ID
ph.21Description
Two black and white photograph prints of another photograph of a man by a car outside Broomfield Lumber Company, circa 1930. The prints are 3.5" x 5", resin coated. The photograph in the images is probably a silver gelatin print.
The image shows a 1930s era automobile in the center-left facing the camera at an angle. The car's owner, possibly Broomfield Lumber owner Joseph Huddart, is shown standing just behind the car's hood with hands in his pockets, wearing a newsboy cap, checkered suit jacket and tie. A telephone pole is immediately behind the car to the left in the background, with the Broomfield Lumber Company storefront just behind the man on the right. The store's sign is visible above the door and shop windows, cut off at the upper right corner of the image. The sign reads: "The Broomfield LBR. Co. Lumber, Hardwares & Implements."
Handwritten on the back of the photograph is the date, November 1927. It also includes "Glenn Mosher" and "'Gray' car." The person in the photograph is actually Glenn Mosher and his car. Mr. Mosher started working with Mr. Huddart in 1926 and continued to work with him for 50 years, until they both retired in 1976.Collection
