Description

Black and white photograph print of Miles and Emily Crawford at Emily's retirement celebration, 1965. The print is 2.5" x 4.75". The image shows Miles on the left with tie and slacks, and Emily to the right in a patterned dress holding a wrapped gift. A brick building, likely the Broomfield Post Office at 1380 Midway Boulevard, is visible behind them. Both Miles and Emily retired that year, with Miles having served as postmaster since 1945. Emily had worked as a clerk for the Broomfield Post Office since 1950. Inscription on the reverse side, in ink, states, "Friday 13th, 1965." A sticker on the back has labeling, in pen, stating "1-reg."

Notes

This photograph was originally owned by Robert Crawford, and later donated to the Broomfield Depot Museum in 2013 with several other photographs and documents. Much of the material pertains to Robert's father, Miles Crawford, who was Broomfield's postmaster from 1944 to 1966, as well as to the general history of Broomfield from the late nineteenth century onward.
