Name/Title

Unidentified Woman by PO Boxes at Broomfield Depot Museum

Entry/Object ID

2013.1.26

Description

Color photograph print of an unidentified woman standing by PO boxes from the Broomfield Post Office, likely part of an exhibit on Post Office history, circa 1984. The print is 3.5" x 4.5". The image shows the woman to the left of the boxes, with a large window and white window blind behind her. This is likely the southwest corner of the Depot Museum's waiting room. The PO boxes are wooden, part of a single furniture unit with a separate mail container attached to its right side by a window. Several open books can be seen displayed immediately in front and on top of the boxes. The plaque for the 1958 Broomfield Post Office is resting on top of the boxes, as well.

Provenance

Notes

This photograph was originally owned by Robert Crawford, and later donated to the Broomfield Depot Museum in 2013 with several other photographs and documents. Much of the material pertains to Robert's father, Miles Crawford, who was Broomfield's postmaster from 1944 to 1966, as well as to the general history of Broomfield from the late nineteenth century onward.
