96th Street Interchange Year 1. Urban Renewal Project Information Sheet. Broomfield residents will be asked to approve a $8.63 million bond issue to build a new interchange on the Boulder Turnpike at 96th Street between Interlocken and Storage Tek. The interchange issue will be the fourth question on the city's section at the bottom of the ballot. The new Interchange is designed to reduce traffic congestion in Broomfield. The project will cost $11.3 million.
The city will use a "tax increment" the difference between the city tax revenues that are being generated now and those that will be generated after the project is constructed.
There are plans to build a new hotel and a 27 hole championship golf course nearby. The new development would be financed by Interlocken and would not use proceeds from the bond fund.
Included with this plan is a proposed layout of the the interchange and the connecting streets including a new InterlockenConference Resort.
