Piece of Honey House WallEntry/Object ID
2022.0.131Description
Piece/fragment of original wall from Honey House. Backside shows the lath and plaster contsruction popular at the time and before the introduction of drywall. The opposite side shows the walls as they existed before renovation began, painted a light yellow and stamped with bees in black ink, likely done in the late 1990. This piece was saved by the construction crew doing the Honey House renovations in May 2022.
The wall that existed when renovations began in 2022 may not have been from 1909, and the wall been replaced at one point during the 20th century based on a different type of plaster being found behind the baseboard. The walls may have even been replaced in a traditional manner when the house was moved to Zang Spur Park in 1996.Collection
