Description

Nine-year-old Raephy McDowell and her family live in the Blackwell Railroad Station where her mother works. The station in southeast Colorado is moved in the dead of night to brand new town named Lamar. This is a fictional account of the founding of Lamar, Colorado, in May of 1886. The main characters in the story are based on participants of the historical event. This is a 5 1/2" X 8 1/2" paperback with 91 pages. The front cover has an illustration of a red-haried girl holding a lit lantern. The book includes illustrations, music, historical background information, acknowledgements, and a biography of the author.
