DVD with recordings of two talks by Dr. Roger H. Grant filmed in the Broomfield Auditorium on June 25, 2015. The museum brought Dr. Grant, professor at Clemson University and President of the Lexington Club, to Broomfield to share his expertise on living-in depots and interurbans.
In "Living in the Depot" Grant explains the significance of depots with living quarters, the architecture of the buildings, how railroads benefitted from having a station agent living on site, and what families experienced as they lived in what was considered an important public building.
In "Interurbans: The Electric Way" Grant covered the advent of electric train passenger travel, where interurbans fit in historic context of railways, and their development across the United States. He explained the ridership of the interurbans, the relation of interurbans to tourism, and the factors that led to the decline of interurbans.
