Label from 2021 Exhibit: Broomfield Heights Model Home Promotional Booth, c. 1955 On August 22, 1955, The Denver Post reported that 25,000 people came to the first public showing of model homes. Other promotional ventures included the Birth of a City film, a “Miss Broomfield” beauty contest, and a 1955 Chevrolet Nomad raffle. A surviving copy of the brochure the woman holds can be seen in the exhibit case. The winner of the Chevy Nomad was Harry Lund, of 108 Emerald Street. He and his wife Shirley and their two boys moved into their new home just before Christmas 1955, and won the car the week after. Ph.487 Gift of Jack Mefford
